WHAT TO EXPECT
When your dog stays at Nightingale Kennels
Whether a seasoned daycare regular or a first-time pup with bundles of energy, we have the facilities and experience to ensure a fun and comfortable holiday home for your dog.

THE BEST CARE FOR YOUR DOG
All dogs enjoy a variety of activities and enrichment every day, ensuring both physical exercise and mental stimulation, and to help assess their temperament, stress levels and health on a daily basis.

GETTING SETTLED
One of our friendly team will greet you and welcome your dog in, ensuring your booking form and vaccination card is up-to-date.
Your dog will then be taken for a 1-2-1 walk to discover our paddock, to bond and feel safe.

We'll then get pooch settled into their new holiday home with clean blankets, basket and toys; you're welcome to bring your dog's own bed and toys if you wish.
Once they've had a good sniff around, we'll offer breakfast or a tasty treat - rabbit ears, pig ears or drier chicken feed.

DAILY ROUTINE
In the morning, all dogs will enjoy 'free play' for a minimum of 20 minutes and up to 40 minutes depending how busy we are at the kennels that day. We ensure 1-2-1 training and play including fetch, tug-of-war, hide and seek with toys and treats, and general interaction.
After this exercise, we extend the dogs' period of enrichment with feeding time; we use slow feed bowls, Kongs and food puzzle toys for mental stimulation and to add variety to food times at the kennels.
In the afternoon, it's time for a second adventure; all dogs will have a walk of at least 20 minutes. If your dog is social with other dogs we will personally match them, but only in small groups. Once afternoon play is finished, it’s time for dinner and a late afternoon snooze and enrichments.
At 9pm, it's time for a last leg stretch, toilet, and bedtime biscuits before lights out.

EXERCISE & ENRICHMENT
We use only positive reinforcement based training methods at Nightingale Kennels. We create a comfortable environment for your pet knowing that dogs who are well exercised and mentally stimulated are less likely to be noisy or disruptive with other dogs in the kennels.

Younger dogs, under one year, will undertake additional sessions for socialisation and exposure to 'everyday situations'.

All dogs with lots of energy will always be given extra time to make sure they are properly exercised.
Activities are considerate to old or overweight dogs, and we are very careful walking dogs of the brachycephalic type in extreme weathers.

Our kennels and paddocks are fully fenced and secure, with a large Polly-tunnel for bad weather days.
